Setting up datamapper for RTF (Rich Text Format) data file

How do you set up a datamapper based on RTF data file? Can this be done in Designer? Or can this be done in Workflow?

Hi B,

.rtf files are not supported by Connect software. So I suggest for you to convert your file to pdf using The Word to PDF converter and then you will be able to do your data mapping with the pdf.

The Word to PDF converter requires Workflow 8 and Microsoft Office on the same machine.

Best Regards,

Juan

In case Microsoft Office is not installed on the Workflow 8 server (as it is the case for most installations), you can instead:

  • Print the RTF file to the paused and shared PlanetPress Printer which uses the Objectif Lune PostScript driver.
  • Start the process with the WinQueue Input action. This task will capture the print job and convert it to PDF.
  • Use the PDF to create the data mapping configuration file

If you do have batches of RTF files however that need converting into PDF, then perhaps it’s best installing Microsoft Office on the Workflow 8 server and use Juan’s suggestion above. If however the RTF file

Open a support ticket if you need further help setting this up and explanation on how this would suit your current production configuration.

Thank you Juan and Rod.

I have just under 3000 individual rtf data files, so I will need to use option 1, Unless there is a Workflow automation plugin to send the rtf to the WinQueue input?
