PrintShop Mail Connect - Slip Sheets

Hi All, could someone remind me how it would be possible to insert a slip sheet from a different printer tray. Client wants to do it two ways. 1. With big runs they want to manage the stacks of print into smaller chunks of, say 200 records. 2. Split and insert a slip sheet into a run based on content within the data file.

Your help much appreciated.

Hello @rod.heaton,

Hereby I would like to share the following steps with you in regards to your forum post:

  1. With big runs they want to manage the stacks of print into smaller chunks of, say 200 records.

This can be achieved by executing the following steps:

  1. Go to File > Print… (Ctrl + P)
  2. Click on the Advanced button once the Print window has been loaded
  3. Check the option Separation under Production Options on the Print Options page once the Print Wizard window has been loaded
  4. Click on the Next > button to go to the Separation Options page
  5. Apply the following settings under Separate by Count:
    • Split: [At Exactly]
    • Every: 200 [Documents]
  6. Apply the following settings under Slip Sheets:
    • Add slip sheet: [After]
    • Every: [Document]
    • Media Size: Select the correct media size here…
  1. Split and insert a slip sheet into a run based on content within the data file.

Let’s say that we would like to group on Document Set level and that we use the value assigned to the field Example for this. In that case we can achieve this by executing the following steps:

  1. Go to File > Print… (Ctrl + P)
  2. Click on the Advanced button once the Print window has been loaded
  3. Check the options Use grouping and Separation under Production Options on the Print Options page once the Print Wizard window has been loaded
  4. Click on the Next > button to go to the Grouping Options page
  5. Go to the Document Set Grouping Fields tab, select the field Example in the Available Fields box and click on the add button (‘arrow to the left’ icon) to add the field to the Selected Fields box
  6. Click on the Next > button to go to the Separation Options page
  7. Apply the following setting under Separation Settings:
    • Separation: [Document Set]
  8. Apply the following settings under Slip Sheets:
    • Add slip sheet: [After]
    • Every: [Document]
    • Media Size: Select the correct media size here…

Note: Please note that both step 3 - 6 and step 3 - 8 can also be executed when creating or customizing a Output Preset via the Designer application.
