I have a production issue where the registration of the output PDF is offset vertically on the paper media when printed in an unpredictable manner. This is effecting roughly 10% of my outputs. Both the PDF background image and the data-mapped, absolutely positioned, dynamic text are moving, in-sync, as much as 50px (1/2") “UP” such that the top of the output is clipped. Preview mode in Designer looks perfect.
There does seem to be a loose correlation with the quantity of data-mapped information. The output never spans more than 1 page. There’s roughly 6 lines of dynamic text, less than 50 characters repeated in a grid. There is HTML in the dynamic text. I’m using custom media of 12" by 12" and a default (empty) master page. Reprinting the same output PDF multiple times does not result in different registrations - the printer does not seem to be involved.
What could I be doing wrong?
