I’ve been tasked at my job to learn Connect and I wanted to start by learning how to use the Data Mapper. I tried starting a simple project by selecting new > data > PDF and I immediately get this dialog box…
Am I even able to use the Data Mapper with the “Designer?” Any help getting started is greatly appreciated.
That’s because it’s your first time using the DataMapper with PDF data, which requires the DataMapper to connect to the Server. You have to enter the credentials that you entered in the Server Preferences at installation time. The default username is olc_user (though this may have been changed), and the password is whatever was specified by the person who installed the software.
If you just want to get a feel of the DataMapper without having to connect to the server, use a CSV, an XML or a Text file if you have one available.
