As the year comes to a close, our development team has been working hard to deliver a wonderful update with new nodes, enhancements, and everyday improvements to OL Connect Automate. Weβre thrilled to share the highlights of this release with you!
Improvements
- You can now choose between File System Events and Polling as the triggering method for the Folder Capture node. FS Events directly signals the node when files are created or modified, offering a highly efficient approach. However, it may not work reliably with network volumes. Choose Polling when working with network volumes to ensure consistent and reliable performance.
- Automatic File Processing at Startup: The Folder Capture now automatically processes files upon flow startup or deployment.
- You can now pass the job output folder location from the all in one and paginated output nodes. This enhancement allows Output Presets to be shared seamlessly between systems without requiring location adjustments in the Output Preset for each system running the flow, making it ideal for DTAP (Development, Testing, Acceptance, Production) environments. The value provided overwrites any settings in the Output Preset.
- Pass Environment Variables as parameters to templates, data mapping configurations, and job presets. This simplifies the process of sharing information, such as the location of a workspace folder, across your templates, data mapping configurations, and job presets.
New nodes
-
Capture OnTheGo (COTG) nodes
Introducing a new package for publishing forms to and deleting them from the COTG Server.
Package on npmjs.com @objectif-lune/node-red-contrib-cotg -
SMTP Mail nodes
A new package to send email messages created with the Email Content node via SMTP.
Package on npmjs.com: @objectif-lune/node-red-contrib-smtp-mail
Updating and installing nodes
To update or install nodes, simply access the Palette Manager within the Node-RED editor. From there, you can check for updates and apply them accordingly. This interface also facilitates the installation of new nodes.
For new comers to OL Connect Automate, utilize the Windows installer available on OL Resource Center
This installer streamlines the process by automatically installing necessary components and the latest collection of OL Connect Automate nodes.
A word of caution
The packages are part of the OL Connect Automate stack. It is intended for use by current users of OL Connect who want to experiment with automating server operations through Node-RED. The OL Connect Automate stack is a technology preview.
Support
At this early stage, the OL Connect Automate stack is not supported through the OL Care program. Feel free to visit this forum to post questions, comments and suggestions.
