Hi,
trying the PDF/UA output and find that it doesn’t generate a PDF/UA. I use Adobe preflight to validate if it is compliant but none of it is. Any help is appreciated.
Hi @bastienfr,
PDF/UA output requires two setting changes:
- Print context properties > Accessibility > Include PDF/UA metadata and tags tree
- In the output preset, or in Print > Advanced: PDF Options > PDF Creation > Type: PDF/UA-1
Limitations are listed here: Tagged PDF Limitations
Note that using PDF/UA does not guarantee that the output is compliant with WCAG guidelines (which may be what Adobe preflight is checking), it only ensures the output structure is valid PDF/UA. The template still needs to be designed with accessibility in mind. For example, there is nothing stopping a template designer from skipping levels for headings (from h1 to h3, skipping h2), or using colors with insufficient contrast.
