Fiery and Connect Issues with Output settings

Hi

I am having real problems controlling the output of Designer when sending print jobs to our Fiery RIPs.

None of my settings in my Output configuration are being kept and all settings are be refered back to default Fiery settings.

A work around for me is to create a virtual printer on the Fiery with the correct settings, however this is a backward step and would mean every job would need its own print queue (far from ideal)

I have a PDC file that has been created for us with our latest PPD for both our presses.

Is anyone else having issues doing the most simplest of tasks?? or is it just me?

Hi iBaldie,

Please be sure that you send your Job Presets to the workflow, and that you have the latest modification.

  1. On your Workflow, please go to Connect Ressources > Job Presets > [your preset name] right click on it and check if you have the latest modification for that preset like on the image below

I did check this and it is up to date and has the correct configuration.

Also (as with the sample above) I have tried sending direct from designer.

Its not even as complicated as that, this is puerly the Media size thats not coming accross…

I have now created a support ticket and this is being looked into.

I just want to re ignite this issue as I am really struggling getting the correct output to our Fiery enabled devices.

Simple PS instructions like page size and profile settings…

Is anyone else experiencing these issues?

Hallo Liam,

Same issues so far with designer.

The tray paper settings has been ignored and letter,plain paer by default appear on FIERY Screen.

I take a look at the PS file in WinSpool directory.It seems weight,mediatype descriptions has been added to the PS or PDF file.Unless medianame is not.

And it’s an A4 paper. IF you calculate the paper size

595.276*25.4/72.27 = 209.215 (A bit smaller than a4)

Finally to check EFI FIERY-Generic PS Driver relationship.

i use prompt for filename.And result is

Media settings which has been added to PS has been all ignored.

When you select the media positon option in one of the Generic PS LEVEL3 drivers.

It appears in the data however all appears as same.What i mean i prepare 3 diffeerent trays with different mediaweights,colors all appears as same in data.

I open a ticket also.I’ll update if we found a solution.
