Dynamic pages in duplex

Hi,
trying to control page breaks when overflow happens. I have 1 English and 1 French print section that will have different page counts due to dynamic tables overflow. Page count will differ on both sections. Both sections are set to Duplex and that is how it should be except for 1 case, when both are just 1 pager I want them to be back to back. Tried all possible setting but nothing works. I could do it in a Post function but the page break that the result generates gets ignored and so is enabling a blank section. Tried the control function but can’t get it to access the pagination page count. Stuck… looking for the magic.

You can’t have two sections pages be back to back unless you do a two passes where the first output is a PDF and is the input for the second template where your do the duplexing.

Hi,
thanks for the response. I did consider doing that second pass (it shouldn’t be needed) but in this case it is ruled out due to the Ripping delays. The template is for a Voter Notification that generates 24 PDF of 50k pages on average, this takes around 9 hours with 18 reserved cpu’s, so doing a second pass is not an option. I did try to have it all in 1 print section but I am still unable to push a front when needed. I am open to any design approach that provides this simple flexibility without having to program the entire output. Thanks.

How about making a single page that call snippets, each being of different languages?

That is fine, I’ll play with that. I am wondering however how it would switch from “duplex omit empty” to not omit empty when the dynamic tables don’t overflow?

Better open a technical support ticket through our website for tat one
