Do the forms from PPv7 Design and the rules in Production migrate to PP Connect?

We will soon be moving from PPv7 Design and Production to PP Connect,
can the many forms currently setup in PP Design be imported into Connect Design ?
Similarly can the process groups in Production be moved directly into Connect.

Hello Russel,

Due to the different technologies used in Connect versus PlanetPress Design 7, importing existing documents is unfortunately not possible. Documents need to be re-done from the ground up to be used in the Connect tools.

However, we’re still using the same Workflow tool you’re used to, along with the same plugins and tasks you already have in place, so existing documents and processes can continue running as they are with no change. This means upgrading to the Connect technology can be done one document at a time as the need arises to add new features that can only be found in Connect. All existing 7.X processes can be used as-is in version 8.

Additionally, if you want to take advantage of some of our newly supported print technologies you can do so by using the output from your version 7 documents as input for Connect, which can act as a passthrough except for the output module. Note that the additional layer of processing can impact the expected throughput speed.
