Change store folder location

Hello to everyone!

I installed my connect server and workflow in the C:\ drive, but it’s small and I’m having issues with this folder:

C:\Users\username\Connect\filestore

I already increased the frequency of cleaning, but it’s not enough. What is the best way to move this folder to another drive?
Do I need to install the software from scratch and select a different drive?

Thank you very much!!

Hi,
The location of the filestore folder is currently dependent on the Windows user profile that is running the PReS Connect Service, which is why you’ll find it under the C:\Users directory. There is a plan to be able to specify the path in the installer, however unfortunately that has not been implemented yet.

Thank you very much for the prompt response Justin,

How about the ProgramData? I have many resources from WorkFlow stored there, how can I clean them automatically after they are used? My version of WorkFlow is 2019.1 that’s the reason the way I use to send resources to WorkFlow is through this hot folder:

C:\ProgramData\Objectif Lune\PlanetPress Workflow 8\PlanetPress Watch\Documents\In

Is there a plugin I can use to do that? If there is no plugin, I could even use a script to do it, but I’m not sure what to delete, in the case of the templates, Inside the “Template” folder I see that after sending a template file to workflow a new folder is created with the template name, but also the template itself is hosted outside this folder. And then I also see templates inside the “Archive” folder. What’s the best way to clean them?

Thank you very much!

Hi,
The template files under C:\ProgramData\Objectif Lune\PlanetPress Workflow 8\PlanetPress Watch\OLConnect\Archive\template are basically the compressed versions of the runtime files under C:\ProgramData\Objectif Lune\PlanetPress Workflow 8\PlanetPress Watch\OLConnect\Template. The template folder under Archive also contains any updated versions of the templates, whereas the other directory just contains the latest one sent to the Workflow. If you were concerned about space you probably could get rid of the ones under Archive and it shouldn’t interfere with regular operation. You can find more information on these files here:

https://help.objectiflune.com/en/pres-workflow-user-guide/2021.2/Default.html#Workflow/ResourceFiles/connect-resources.html

Please note that deleting any templates or presets under the Configuration Components tree in the Workflow will remove them from the C:\ProgramData\Objectif Lune\PlanetPress Workflow 8\PlanetPress Watch\OLConnect\Template folder, whereas it will still remain in the C:\ProgramData\Objectif Lune\PlanetPress Workflow 8\PlanetPress Watch\OLConnect\Archive\template directory.

In terms of if any folders are automatically cleaned up, the subfolders under C:\ProgramData\Objectif Lune\PlanetPress Workflow 8\PlanetPress Watch\Spool should be automatically maintained and emptied, as they are used for temporary file storage during a run. However, if a process fails then it can hold onto these temporary files.

Has this been implemented? We have an environment where the situation is getting absolutely dire at this point.
