Hi, I have run into an issue where a 2-page PDF that I have set as the background image for a 2-page template does not print with the rest of the template elements. The PDF is the same size as my template (8.5 in by 3.67 in). I am running version 2023.1.0.15090 of the Designer software. Has anyone ever ran into this issue before?
Here are screenshots of what the PDF output should be (this screenshot is my Designer template) and what the PDF output currently is.
That “%20” in the filename looks like it might be a problem. That’s the way spaces are formatted in URLS, so it probably shouldn’t be there in a a direct resource? Just a guess. Try renaming the PDF without it, and re-importing it into your “images” folder.
The %20 in the Print Section Properties dialog should not cause a problem. That’s what it is supposed to look like if the file has a name containing a space. I did a quick test using a section background PDF with a space in its filename and the output looks fine.
Perhaps there’s something peculiar about your PDF. If you use the following PDF (which is just a green backdrop) as your section background is it visible in the output?
Green.pdf (789 Bytes)
Do you want to output in PDF? Have you already tried to activate the output option “Pass-through PDF resources” in the last step of advanced printing options?
@Sander Do you mind sending me a green background PDF that has a width of 8.5" and a height of 3.67"? My template won’t work with an 11" by 8.5" PDF. Thank you!
The issue was that my OL Connect template file name was too long. After shortening the file name, the PDF background printed properly.
