I’m imposing two 8.5x11 sheets on a 12x18 sheet with 1/4" gutter in the middle, leaving 3/8 on the outside left and right edges, using a cut and stack setup. We have lots of work setup using that output method. Now I need to add a data matrix barcode to each of those pages that is ~1/4 inch square. End result is for the left hand page, I’d like it in the upper left of the sheet outside the trim and for the right hand page, I’d like it to appear in the upper right of the sheet outside the trim. In my conditions for the barcode… how do I tell if it’s a right or a left page that I’m working on?
Hello @jmdornbos ,
I am not entirely sure what you mean by “outside the trim” but please note that it is unfortunately not possible to print content outside the page size or bleed.
Crop marks are an example of printing “outside the trim”. I have increased the bleed on my pages to allow room for the barcodes, but I don’t have equal space all the way around the page. On the 2-up sheet going to press, I have 3/8ths on the left of the left hand sheet and 3/8ths on the right of the right hand sheet. That’s the space I’d like to use. For the moment, I put the barcode on both sides of the sheet. I end up with about 1/16th of barcode showing in the gutter between sheets, but I am getting useful barcodes on the left and right edges. That just felt sloppy and I was looking for the “right” solution to address left and right pages on the imposition.
