Version of MySQL

Can someone tell me where I can find what version of Oracle MySQL is installed with the version of Connect that we have installed?

Also is there a place to find out of a newer version will be installed with an upgrade to Connect? I did not see it in the release notes

I’m sure someone will respond with a fancier way, but you can get the server version in Windows by opening the properties of the mysqld.exe here:

C:\Program Files\Objectif Lune\OL Connect\MySQL\bin\mysqld.exe

As of version 2020.1, Connect ships with version 8.0.18, but this is only installed if you’re doing a fresh install. If you are upgrading from a previous version, you’d need to uninstall, remove the old database, then reinstall to obtain the latest version of mySQL

Note that starting with the upcoming version 2022.1 of OL Connect, we will be shipping MariaDB instead of MySQL. You will still be able to use MySQL if you prefer, of course.

Does this mean that MariaDB is what will be installed with OL Connect packages from now on and Oracle MySQL will no longer be upgraded through this packages?

You may elect to keep MySQL if you want, Connect will still work as expected, but you will have to maintain the DB yourself.

Do you know what version of MariaDB will be included in the installer?
10.6, 10, 7, 10.8?
