There was a previous question about variable filename output. This was very helpfull, but it got me thinking. Is it also possible to have a variable output folder. I tried a few things similar to the variable output mask but it doesn’t work. It just creates a new folder with a filename that represents my futile attempt to make the output folder variable.
This problem is now solved. Using the workflow we filled a variable which passes through to automation (jobinfo9) with a directory path. This is then filled in at the output folder in output creation settings.
In our case, we used jobinfo9. At the Job Output Folder we filled in @automation.jobinfo9@.
Keep in mind, the jobinfo9 variable needs to have the full path to the folder. If the folder does not exist, it is created automatically.
