Upgrading to Connect 1.8

I cannot upgrade to 1.8. Both the offline and online installers see the previous install and rather than upgrading, wants to proceed with a NEW install. Error message is:

“The installation path does exist and is not empty! Please choose a different location.”

I don’t want an entirely new install; I want to perform an upgrade.

Do you have a solution for this issue? I am experiencing the same issue. In our test environment setup detects an existing install, while in production it says folder exists and is not empty. We are upgrading to the same version, 1.8.

This happens when a problem occurred whilst uninstalling the previous version. When you update, the software first uninstall the current version and then proceed with the installation of the update.

Try running the uninstall from the “Program and Features” of Windows. Then run the offline installer.

If that doesn’t do it, open a technical support call at 1-866-348-5863 or through our website, and a technician will proceed to a clean-up of your system (clean uninstall) so you can install the latest version.
