I’m trying to setup a generic workflow that’s splits jobs by using “Seperate by Count”, and use a variable from workflow to name the files. However whenever I try using MetaData at either document or document.set metadata it just errors and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong

Can you let us know please which error messages does occur whenever you try to use metadata at either document or document set level?
I assume that you are making use of the following settings for “Separate by Count”, can you please confirm if this is correct?
Separation Options > Separate by Count:
Split [ At Exactly ]
Every [ 1 ] [ Sheets ]
