printing to printserver fails

When printing to a printer residing on a printserver i get the following message:

W3741 : Printer name is invalid: [\servername\printername](file://\servername\printername)

I’ve installed this printer locally and then it works just fine.

Any ideas on how to use printers on a printerver

Please make sure that the printer has also been installed in the PlanetPress Workflow Service logon account.

If the PlanetPress Workflow Services are run with the “Local System” account, this account may not have access to the printer on the remote server. Instead you should use a domain account with local administrative privileges on the PlanetPress Server to run the PlanetPress Workflow Services as.

To set the PlanetPress Workflow services with a domain user account, open the PlanetPress Workflow Configuration, then click on Tools in the menu bar and click on Configure Services… Under the “This Account” section, select Display network and domains usernames and select your account and confirm its password.

The printer must also be installed under this user account profile. To do this, log into Windows as the user, navigate to \servername from Windows File Explorer, double click on “printername” to install it.

Thanks for your reply.

I followed the instructions (changed local to daomain account en reinstalled printer).

The printername is now valid, but no i get a warning W3740: printer driver name do not match the one saved in the configuration file.

any ideas
