From several years using PS language for printing, its good cause it can handle multiple commands like Tray Switching and others. 1 issue which is still unresolved i cant find any kind of tool or software that supports to fetch run time printer info or stats. for PDF there are many tools for PS nothing
PostScript is a page description language. It is not bi-directional so you can’t use it to fetch information from the printer (nor can you use PDF, for that matter).
To get information from the device, you’ll need to use something like SNMP (through the SNMP condition task in Workflow), assuming your printer supports it.
