positioning detail tables

Hi - I have a terrible time when working with more than one detail table. I am not seeing a consistent or semi consistent way to code them so that they move dynamically. I have searched for some documentation and can’t find anything that explains it beyond the basics. Does anyone have any links they can share that would possibly help me?

I have tried all combinations of absolute, static, relative with margin-top instead of top. I have tried placing my tables in a div and they still will not move. Does anyone know anything in the code that might prevent this? I have even deleted all styling in my code and added things back one by one.

I am at a loss.

Thank you

Amy

I don’t know if this is what you are looking for but this How-to was created to help using cloning capabilities of Connect when dealing with details tables.

Hope that helps.

Hello Amy,

In order to benefit from page overflow the dynamic tables should be placed in the main text flow. This is the area where you can start typing after creating a new document. You could insert one or more detail tables in the flow (after each other or ‘stacked’. When previewing the document both tables will be populated with data and automatically run across pages.

Hope this is of some help,

Erik

PS. Could you share your template and datamapper so that I can give it a look?

Hi Erik,

I can share my datamapper and template for your review. https://learn.objectiflune.com/qa-blobs/12501661978829480921.zip

I am referring to the InvestmentPolicy print page. The Time Horizon table and the Objective table will increase or decrease depending on input. I know the code isn’t correct right now, I have just been trying everything I can think of to get this to work.

Thank You

Amy
