Hello,

We have a customer who is considering purchasing a PlanetPress Connect Performance Pack license. We would like to know if the Performance Pack installation needs to be on servers with identical hardware.

Actually, a PlanetPress Connect Performance Pack is installed on the same machine as your OL Connect server.

To install performance packs on different PCs (or VMs), you must have PReS Connect. The performance packs for PReS Connect can definitely be installed on systems that don’t all have identical hardware. However, you shouldn’t install performance packs on sub-par hardware, because that would obviously alter the expected benefits on overall performance.
