Media Settings

I’m having trouble with media settings. We have jobs that print banner pages on different stock. I have the media settings and Characteristics assigned, I have the Print Templates using the proper Media and in the Output Settings file have them set to map by “Media Settings”. However, in one template only the media name comes through in the PostScript:

Good:

%!PS-Adobe-3.0
%%Creator: PlanetPress Connect 1.7.1.44448
%%CreationDate: 2017-11-02 09:58 AM PDT
%%DocumentData: Binary
%%LanguageLevel: 2
%%Pages: 16
%%DocumentMedia:
%%+ Banner_Trailer 792 612 75 blue Plain
%%+ Body 612 792 75 white Plain
%%+ DMW_MEDIA_2 792 612 75 white Plain
%%EndComments

Bad:

%!PS-Adobe-3.0
%%Creator: PlanetPress Connect 1.7.1.44448
%%CreationDate: 2017-11-02 10:11 AM PDT
%%DocumentData: Binary
%%LanguageLevel: 2
%%Pages: 17
%%DocumentMedia:
%%+ GREEN 792 612 0 () ()
%%+ Letter 612 792 0 () ()
%%+ DMW_MEDIA_2 792 612 0 () ()
%%EndComments

Why are my “characteristics”, the weight, color, and stock, missing in some of my output? What determines this?

Did you also load the proper printer definition file? This file includes printer specific PostScript code to be used for creating the output.

These are both using the same “Generic PS Level 3” printer.

Guess you need to load a printer definition file specific to your printer. You may find it on OL web site or ask local support team to create a new one based on your printer’s ppd file.
