Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password during PlanetPress Connect install

Hello,

I have a Client having trouble installing PlanetPress Connect Designer. She is getting the error ‘Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password’. She is running the installer as Administrator.

The dialogue box is asking for the following credentials:

Run Server as:

Username

Password

NOTE: This user must not be in the “Deny logon as service” list.

Underneath is a ‘Validate User’ button.

It does not matter what username and password combination she enters it does not work.

Hello Roderick,

The “Run Server As” dialog is asking for a Windows username and password. If the machine is standalone this should be a local username and password for an administrator account. If the machine is on a domain, this should be the domain login (for example, mydomain\myusername) with the domain password. The domain username must have admin access on the local machine.
