HTTP error 403 Forbidden when connecting to a webform from a remote workstation.

I have an issue when connecting to a webform from a remote workstation. I receive an error 403 Forbidden. When using either 127.0.0.1 or the server IP from the local server, the webform works perfect.

The service console displays “Connect output was NOT sent back to remote client”.

Hello Charles,

Is there any difference in the Workflow log for that process when it doesn’t work vs when it doesn’t? There might be a clue in there to indicate the source of the problem.

~Evie

The workflow log shows success either way.

Hmm. The fact that the process is executed is a little odd to me. But a 403 Unauthorized from an “outside” source that works on the local host sounds to me like a permission error in the Access Manager.

In the Tools tab of workflow, click Access Manager, and take a look at the 255.255.255.255 entry. Is the HTTP/SMTP Input column checked for that entry? If not, check it, restart the “PPMessenger 8” service in your control panel, and try again. Let me know if this was the issue.

Scratch that. After some further research into it, some important information has come to light: Web and Email output are both limited to local output when on a Trial or Reseller license. This would explain why it works locally but not from another workstation.

Would this be the case for you?

~Evie

That must be it. I do have a reseller license and was trying to access the form from one of my other development servers.

I’ve asked that the message be changed to clearly state this restriction, so that no one else has to scratch their head on this particular message in the future.
