When we created our postcard PDF files in PP7, we would have crop marks around each postcard on a page that was Nup. Using the new PP Connect Designer, I haven’t been able to figure out how to replicate the same marks. I have tried using the imposition option on the output creation to add crop marks, but there doesn’t appear to be an option to have crop marks that reflects bleeds. The crop marks that show up aren’t aligned so that if you cut on each crop mark, you would finish with the desired piece size for all postcards.
Perhaps what we have always done was an odd way of doing things, but I am hoping someone could help point me in the right direction on getting crop marks that would display around each postcard. Or for us to be able to add crop marks to the imposed page that would take bleeds into consideration.
I have attached a sample of what our PDF output would have been on our PP7 server.
You can do that also in Connect by making use of a Output Creation Preset. In the Output Creation window you’ve to check the option “Imposition” in the Print Options step. And on the bottom-left side of the Imposition Options step you can choose if you want to add Crop Marks to your output.
P.S. You can create a Output Creation Preset via the Connect Designer: File > Print Presets > Output Creation Settings
I have already tried that option, and there is not option to add bleeds that account for bleeds, which is the issue I am having.
Like I said in my initial post, it’s possible that our company is using crop marks in a way that isn’t standard. I am still trying to figure out if we just do things differently, or how we can get crop marks to replicate what we did in our PP7 server (and the attached image).
