Generate PDF Bookmarks

Hi,

Is there any way to generate PDF Bookmarks in Connect (Workflow or Designer)?

Best regards

Ivan

Hello,

I found this in our internal knowledge base. Hope it gives you a way to achieve what you want.

This is not fully implemented yet. One can use the pageref() command Designer’s scripting API to retrieve the page number of matched elements. At this stage this works within a single section. Cross section support would require a post content-creation process.

The following code retrieves the text and page numbers for all <h1> element of class title:

var toc = ‘’;

query(‘h1.title’).each(function(){

??toc += this.text() + ’ ’ + this.pageref() + ‘<br>’;

});

results.html(toc);

Hi hamelj,

Thanks for the answer, but I don’t think, this code would generate PDF Bookmarks :slight_smile:

Yes it seems right…I went ahead of myself…but still looking…:slight_smile:

I’ve look further and it seems that it isn’t implemented at this time. Sadly I do not have an ETA for you…sorry.

Could youspecified what type of PDF bookmarks you want to achieve. Is it based on job info as documetns, job sets or more based on the content of the pages (like a customer number or an specific info)?

Our guru at R&D are trying to see what is required by our customer to give them a direction.

Hi hamelj,

We have multiple insurance letters as pdfs.

These get merged, sorted, grouped by insurance number and printed.

The customer would like to archive the letters as a single pdf, with bookmarks for the different insurance numbers contained within.

Best regards
