I have two users complaining that with the 2019.2 update, tool tips will freeze on the screen and not disappear unless they close and reopen Connect.
Belated follow-up: we’ve seen this occur sporadically, but can’t reliably replicate it. We’ll manage to chase it down eventually.
I see this happen often in the JavaScripts pane in Connect Designer. Only a complete close/re-open of the application clears it. Remarkably, even when closing back out to welcome screen and loading a different type of file (i.e. DataMapper instead of Design Template), the issue is still persistent. Something stuck somewhere for sure - reminds me of the classic workflow undo stack…
I can pretty much consistently make this happen now. It occurs on nearly every form I open.
Any luck in finding a fix?
Yes, this is fixed in 2022.2.
It occurs when the designer shows a preview for an image or font resource for the first time. Generating the preview takes a second, and if the user meanwhile moves the mouse across a folder the tooltip for that folder will be stuck on screen.
Note: It is timing dependent. If it doesn’t happen after moving the mouse over an image or font resource for the first time, you will never be able to reproduce it during the same designer session.
Thank you. Glad to hear that it’s fixed in the coming release.
