Is there way to disable the “link” between a Template and a Datamap? We use a version control system, where users can “check out” a template if they need to edit it. Often when the template is opened it finds an older, local copy of a data map and prompts the user to open it. Really, the user should check out the current version of the data map from the version control system.
I’d like there to be a preference in Connect Designer not to “link” a copy of the data map with a template.
While I’m at it, the way Presets are handled also causes widespread confusion with my users. They don’t understand why they can’t check out and “open” a preset, instead needing to “import” it to revise it. Then when they Save, they don’t understand that they aren’t saving over the copy they checked out/downloaded, but have to dig into their USER directory to find the real copy. And with several users maintaining their own “local” copies of presets, there is mass confusion trying to make sure everyone is using the proper, current presets.
Couldn’t Connect Designer (and Workflow) share a common Respository of presets?
