Data model in designer does not show data

When I open a new print template in Designer and import a data model there is no data from the data sample attached to the data mapper, just the fields. If I open the data mapper configuration in connect and then choose File > New > print template the template opens with the correct data model attached and data from the data sample is present.

Is this intended behavior?

Yes, I think that’s correct behaviour, a datamodel is just a model and has no data attached, you would need to open a datamapper to get the model filled with sample data.
