AWS - licensing issues

I have a customer using Connect (2019.1) on AWS (T2 Extra Large). If they restart the server the magic number changes and they need to relicense the server. This is a bit inconvenient and is potentially a problem as there is a limit to the number of times that they can move the license.

They are aware that the MAC address changes when they restart the server. Would applying a static MAC address prevent the licensing issues or are there other parameters relating to the AWS server that they also need to make sure do not change across restarts?

There are a number of different parameters taken into account when computing the Magic Number. A static MAC address will not be enough to ensure it doesn’t change with each restart.

Please contact our Activations team to discuss possible options to prevent this issue from occurring.

Thanks Phil. I will contact Activations.
